ABOUT

TANSU is a Harlem based singer and songwriter of Turkish-Irish descent. Winner of Experience Harlem’s “Best in Harlem: Live Music”, Tansu is a bleeding heart with natural power to take her fans, and casual listeners alike, on a visceral journey blazed by her impeccable tone, unique sound, and ability to cross genres.

TANSU has lent her vocals to numerous projects as a session singer and featured vocalist, most recently releasing “The Wash Up,” co-produced with NYC indie hip-hop artist, Lars Viola. Performing extensively around lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, TANSU also performs every first Thursday at her monthly residency at Lafolia Restaurant in New York.

Currently, TANSU is the marquee artist on Little Planet Records, founded by Dave Rublin (member of four-piece alt-rock band, American Authors) and actively co-producing her debut solo EP set to release this summer. Evolving from the vibe of her previous work, TANSU’s debut EP will be an homage to the unrivaled Queens of Soul and the influential golden era of 90s R&B.

Tansu is Indie-Soul at her core, with influences spanning from Pop, R&B, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Rock.

Upon graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Tansu moved to New York after landing a coveted position in Fashion PR while fronting her live cover band, SummerLost. As both career paths grew deeper, fashion began to supersede her life. The untimely passing of her idol and legend, Whitney Houston, was an epiphany. With redefined purpose, TANSU followed her passion in pursuit of a solo singing career.
